Hi,
I'm not completely sure if this has anything to do with upgrading to
version 3.1 of Openoffice - I haven't used Base for a long while.
Here's the problem: when launching "Base" - nothing happens. I don't get
any error message, I don't get a crash report - nothing just happens.
Recently, I stumbled on an old Base file I had on my harddisk, and I
double clicked it. It actually opened (I was surprised). It opened in
the "Forms" view, but when I tried switching to the "Tables" view (or on
trying to actually view a form), I get an error message:
The connection to the data source "contacts" could not be established.
The connection to the external data source could not be established.
No SDBC driver was found for the given URL.
When I click on the "More" buttons, I get this stack of info (3 items in
error list):
*Error:* The connection to the data source "contacts" could not be
established.
*Error:* SQL Status: HY000
The connection to the external data source could not be established.
No SDBC driver was found for the given URL.
*Information:* A connection for the following URL was requested:
sdbc:embedded:hsqldb
My system: I'm running Openoffice 3.1 on Ubuntu Jaunty Jackelope (with
the Openoffice repo's installed, to have the newest of your breed)
I was hoping anyone in here could shine a light on this problem.
Thanks in advance,
Jurgen.
