Hello Dick,

 From a 'wild guess' stand point - I would look at your SQL statement
for procedures, functions, control statements perhaps, that the OOo
parser does not recognize. I would also check that Escape Processing is
turned off when you try to execute the statement.

Anyway - that is a first type of thing to look at.

Please see my reply to Frank where I've included the statements I'm using. I've looked at them until I'm cross eyed and can't see what's wrong.
