Hi,
It's about Ubuntu 10.4 with sun-java-1.6_24 (was _22) and
openjdk-1.6_20, some Java based databases (H2 and mostly embedded
HSQLDB) connected to Base 3.3.
Additional Java parameters in the OOo options: Xms256m, Xmx512m
The one and only Java version that used to work normally was
sun-java-1.6_22 which I installed because the openjdk was slow.
Now my system upgraded to from sun-java-1.6_22 to _24 which causes
apparently the same performance as the openjdk. Queries take many
minutes where they used to take 15 seconds and editing subforms is a
pain because you have to wait for some seconds after each record change.
Is there any way to fix the problem by means of settings and parameters?
It already submitted as issue
http://openoffice.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=117203
And all I know about that it is a Java problem and I filed an issue ;-)
Off topic: If not, where do I get the older sun-java-1.6._22? Is ist
true that Oracle packages do not support any apt install? I see rpm
only. The rpm packages are not convertible to dpkg.
Sorry. Don't know. I would guess from Ubuntu or from the Java download site.
Best regards,
Ocke
Thanks in advance,
Andreas Säger
