Yes I did. Just to have peace of mind I even reboot the whole system (just in 
case ... :)
When I look at the plugin details I see the following:
Apache Directory Studio Apache DS Configuration Help
Apache Directory Studio Jars
Apache Directory Studio LDIF Editor Help
Apache Directory Studio RCP Help
Apache Directory Studio Apache DS Configuration
Apache Directory Studio LDAP Browser Help
Apache Directory Studio Schema Editor Help
Apache Directory Studio RCP

Also I checked on the Preferences->Available perspectives and the LDAP 
perspective is not one of them.

Did you restarted Eclipse after having installed the plugin ?
