We've seen the same thing with Java 6 on Macintosh. Java 5 does not
display this behavior. I was never able to figure it out despite
stepping through the code with the debugger.

No idea why you get such an error. However, since ADS 1.5.5, we have
released two new versions, so you'd beter test with the latest one
(1.5.7).
