How to make an LDAP connection keep alive for ApacheDS

Hi,

How to make an LDAP connection to AapchDS (I am using 1.5.5) keep-alive so
that the socket will not be closed when not used for sometime/or when
ApacheDS is inside a firewall?

Do you have any way to do this?
