Create and open a connection to the server, then when you right-click on that connection there is a menu entry "Open Configration...". Two remarks to current Studio version: * It only works with ApacheDS 2.0.0-M21 (and maybe 2.0.0-M22) * Saving the changed configuration doesn't work, see https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRSTUDIO-1080 for a workaround.
