Hi, I'm new to DragonFlyBSD and tried to install the latest release on my HP Pavilion dv9000 notebook using the appropriate 64 bit USB image. When I boot from USB, the boot loader shows up, proceeds loading the kernel modules acpi.ko, ehci.ko and then consistently freezes at this point. Tried disabling ACPI, AHCI or EHCI using the commands from the help page (when escaping to loader prompt) without any effect.
I verified the md5 hash for the uncompressed usb image before writing it to the device with dd. Recent releases of OpenBSD (which I currently use) and FreeBSD work fine on this machine. The OpenBSD dmesg is included below FYI. Not sure if the statement "HP Pavilion dv7 laptops: as of 2012-07 it is impossible to run DragonFly on them due to broken ACPI interrupt routing in their firmware" from http://www.dragonflybsd.org/docs/supportedhardware/ also applies to this machine. I would really like to try out DBSD. The SMP and HAMMER features are attractive and definitely worth a look, but I don't know if there's any hope for this notebook as a testmachine. I'm aware DBSD does not focus on notebook and desktop use, but as an amd64 architecture it should be supported. Any suggestions?
