A kernel built from April 24 morning GMT sources works fine for me.
A kernel built from May 19 morning GMT sources seems to crash the
kernel during X startup, as

the May 19 kernel.
The old kernel seems to be fine with the latest "world".
I had to modify the generic drm code to make the drm/i915 update to
Linux 3.14 succeed.
The radeon driver is most likely unhappy about some part of these
changes; I'll try to investigate the problem during the next few days.
Zrj wrote a fix for the radeon regression. It has now been pushed to master:
