That's great James! Yes, it's a fairly good low-cost laptop. Note that I believe that someone already ported cyapa to FreeBSD and made the interface a bit more mac-like. It's near the top the 'apply the patch' part under 'Build custom installation media'. He ported cyapa (the touchpad driver) and ig4 (the i2c driver for intel haswell) to FreeBSD.
