Reverting to Firefox 39.0.3 would be the equivalent of forking the mozilla ports and I am really loathe to do that. It will add a big burden; we want the differences between ports and dports to be as little as possible. May I suggest using www/firefox-esr instead? It it the long-term stable version and is currently at version 38.2.0. www/firefox is basically bleeding-edge and www/firefox-esr is meant for users that don't want to upgrade twice monthly and get exposed to unstability. firefox-esr should have the big vulnerability fixed as well.
