Thank Bill (bycn82@) for investigating this issue [1] and getting it solved. This issue is caused by a memory leakage bug in the ipfw3sync function. I do not need this feature on a single host, but enabled it to get rid of the complaining messages "ipfw3sync: centre not running", which has also been fixed.
