Hello everyone.
I am investigating different open source (or free) JVMs that I can run
on a device with very limited CPU and memory, along with an open source
implementation of OSGi. I have seen the “Apache Felix and Alternative
Java VMs”, in which it talks about Mika JVM running Felix, so I was
wondering if others have gone through the same investigation and if so,
I would love to hear about their suggestions and/or recommendations.
To be more specific about the CPU/Memory, my device has an AMCC 440 EPx
processor clocked at 667 MHz, with 256 MBytes of RAM .
Hi Ali,
I don't think that the hardware platform that you have described could
be defined "limited CPU and Memory" it seems to me that you're using
only an old PowerPC ;)
I think that a good solution would be the Blackdown, but also Jamvm or
Cacao Jvm are fine :)
Can you give us more information on the software platform that you are
using? I think that the bigger issue for you would be: "cross-compiling"
the JVM for your architecture...
Ciao,
Stefano Lenzi
Many thanks
Ali.
