Hi all,

An open source driver for DPWS (Devices Profile for Web Services), named OSGi
DPWS Base Driver, is released on the Amigo IST project web site:
http://gforge.inria.fr/frs/?group_id=160&release_id=1804. This middleware brick
enables OSGi developers to develop DPWS services and clients. It hides
distribution aspects and part of the protocol details while mirroring the
dynamicity of DPWS devices in the OSGi service registry.

This OSGi bundle set has been developed by France Telecom. It follows a
specification made by Schneider Electric and France Telecom in the ANSO ITEA
project. This specification answers the OSGi RFP 86 entitled "DPWS Discovery
Base Driver". The RFP and the RFC-like answer are provided in the following
file: http://gforge.inria.fr/frs/download.php/3955/DPWS_OSGi_api.zip. This work
has been presented at the last OSGi Community event in Munich in June 2007:
http://www.osgi.org/wiki/uploads/Conference/OSGiCommunity-Bottaro-PlugnPlayWebServices.pdf.

The API and its implementation are packaged into separate bundles. Sources of
these bundles are provided. An OSGi DPWS device - a simulated light - and its
client are given in a zip file. The latter contains a felix platform and a
bundle set ready for a straightworward demonstration.

Best regards,
