Actually, in general I think it is best to have exactly one "management agent" per target/gateway/platform. As soon as you have more than one, they can start interfering with each other. Also, if you look at managed environments, you might want to go through a whole process of first deploying to development systems, then testing/QA, then staging and finally production. In such cases you actually want to make pretty sure that you know what is deployed on each target.
