... now I temporarily commented out the problematic part of ResolverImpl#toStringBlame(). The framework starts, loads and installs the bundles from the server's autodeploy folder but some of them are not started automatically. Though, they can be manually started via the remote console without any issues.
Surprisingly, workaround of deploying the OSGi 4.2 Core Bundle did only help on a Linux machine (Ubuntu 11.10, JDK 1.6_30) and had no effect on a Windows box (W7, JDK 1.6_30).
