I plan to try to get it donated sometime this year. There is always a chance there is some legal or business issue that will prevent it, but spell-checking is probably not key to Adobe's business right now, so I think it will happen.
The license will let you grab a copy and make modifications, so it is a reasonable bet that work you do will be applicable to the donated version later.
