Adobe's Tour de Flex was useful for this purpose, illustrating the way to use the components and features as they were added to the framework. They also had the project starter application (Launchpad -- I think) that built your skeleton project based on the features you selected.
As Flex continues to evolve, we may want to consider similar ways of keeping users up to date on the powerful new functionality available to them. Posts on blogs could work too though. *Lionel*
