DNS would works just fine for such a change, assuming you have access to
that. Some configurations just don't allow such a thing, but it is
definitely a good idea.

In a side-question.. what is 'eccentric data services' ? (A search gives me
nothing useful.. and I'm growing tired of LCDS).
