Create a Group with id="contentGroup" and add it after the BitmapImage.

Like this:
<s:BitmapImage width="100%" height="100%" source="assets/randomBkgd.png" />
<s:Group id="contentGroup" top="0" bottom="0" left="0" right="0"/>
