For me, both are ok, if there is "--force" option.
About "just rename" (without "--force" option): I could need revert, but 
instead I will get more troubles. With "--force" option it will be a 
single command.

I did not had conflicts, but let me say something: I do commit all files 
(directory /). When I run "fsvs status" or something else, I do get long 
long output. If there is some error or "conflict" msg, 99% I will not 
see it.

Most of errors I get are "stop on error", meaning "critical". In some 
cases, it is better if process continue and at the end print a 
"statistic msg" like:
19000 commited files/dirs
12 conflicted files
