Sadly I seem to have tested on my installation *before* the
URL-in-WAA change ...
I should have found that, as that breaks most of the announced
compatibility!

Yes.
But why would you do that? Do you have nested working copies,
or a lot of them?

Versioning your /etc, /home or even your whole installation?
