Hello everybody,

I just got bit by an dist-upgrade on debian, which changed subversion 1.5.6 to
1.6.3 -
and the used BDB from 4.6 to 4.7.

This means that all local repositories have to be converted; see eg #466312
(http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=466312) for such a problem.

The solution is
    cd /var/lib/fsvs-versioning/repository
    svnadmin recover .
    svnadmin upgrade .

Then the commit of /etc worked just as usual.

Regards,

Phil

Versioning your /etc, /home or even your whole installation?
             Try fsvs (fsvs.tigris.org)!
