No, I had not, but I did now and it does not seem to help.

I created

  ~/.fsvs-1.2/conf/auth/svn.simple
  ~/.fsvs-1.2/conf/auth/svn.ssl.server

which I hope was correct given my "FSVS_CONF=$HOME/.fsvs-1.2/conf" 
setting.

Both directories are still empty so far.

I'm currently trying to capture this - unfortunately, fsvs does not prompt 
for authentication data if I redirect its output, so I need to copy+paste 
the output from the terminal window, but this should be ok if you only 
need the last few lines.

The repository is located on another machine, I'm just using a forwarded 
port to access it.
