No, I had not, but I did now and it does not seem to help. I created ~/.fsvs-1.2/conf/auth/svn.simple ~/.fsvs-1.2/conf/auth/svn.ssl.server which I hope was correct given my "FSVS_CONF=$HOME/.fsvs-1.2/conf" setting.
