Hi I use WMSDescribeLayer in GeoExt, and my response includes swedish characters that don't get encoded correctly. The response starts with <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> , that seems correct to me because Geoserver is configured to use UTF-8 chracter set.
