In OpenOffice 3.2.1 vanilla and Go-oo it works fine ( and MS Office )
It just doesn't in LibreOffice 3.3
The printer supports A5,A4 and A3 and has trays for each
and this is XP

A bit more looking ... When you select A5 in the document
and go to the printer properties dialog it's changed it to 'Custom'
Everything works fine with all paper sizes and orientations I've
tried except A5 landsacpe and it has a hissy fit

Basically if I put the paper in the printer North/South, so to speak, it
will print portrait
then take it out and put it back in East/West it'll work landscape

On screen inc page preview
-------------------------
A B C

-------------------------

On paper and preview in print dialog ( A and C obviously don't show but that
is where they would be )
       -----------

A | B | C

       -----------
This is the orientation of the paper in the printer
