But in Linux using gnome / nautilus it's pretty easy. Just open your home folder and find a file of the type you want to associate to LibO (such as an odt file in Documents folder), then right click on it and select the option to 'Open With' and it will have a default option but you can select 'Open with other application' and then it should give you a list of alternatives. There should also be a checkmark in that selection area for 'Remember this application for (similar) files. If that is selected, it should now make LibO Write the default for files of that type. Then do the same for csv or other types of files. There may be another way to do it, but that's what I use if I want to use something other than or change the default for a particular file type.
