I think this goes back to the issue of shared registry entries (also file associations & application executables et al). See: <http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.documentfoundation.libreoffice.devel/4130> File associations aside, if having OOo and LO installed on the same system causes such problems, then I think your bug is valid and should be reopened.
