I ran into that with an .xlsx file as well. Recovered, saved it as xlsx, LO crashed. Recovered, saved as xls, LO crashed. Recovered, saved as ods, LO crashed. Went around and around. Finally opened it using MSXL on another machine and saved as to a new file. New file is working ok with LO.
