        others) and office documents (serial letters, bibliographies,
        calculation models,...).The single-document type of zipped HSQLDB can

You could try using HSQLDB directly for your client.  Download 
athttp://hsqldb.org/ The version in OpenOffice (and I assume also 
LibreOffice??) is
