I'm not complete sure what you mean.
1. a) You can open the presentation in LibreOffice?
b) as ppt?
c) as odp?
d) When you save from LibreOffice both formats work in Impress?
e) When you save from LibreOffice both formats work in PowerPoint?

The pps format is the same as ppt but should open as a slide-show rather than
in
edit mode. You can even just rename a ppt file to pps to change what happens
when you open the file.
Since you are running this on Windows have you tried doing basic maintenance
such as defrags? (Avoid the MS defrag tool as it can occasionally (rarely but
still) cause problems in Xp and earlier, i've not tried it in Win7 or Vista).
I am not sure if the 32bit version of LibreOffice can run on a 64bit OS. Can
you try it? I went back to a 32bit OS because 64bit seems too much trouble tbh
but it's not really possible to make that kind of switch in Windows obviously.

Subject: [libreoffice-users] LibreOffice 64 bit Impress issues
I have a PowerPoint presentation that runs fine in Libreoffice Impress.
If I save it as a odp file it simply will not open. It starts to open then
hangs. I was running 3.3.2
If open LibreOffice first and open the odp presentation it runs fine.
I have tried downloading and running the latest version 3.3.2
All the files say amd64 and I am running an Intel 5.
Same thing happened would not open the odp format.
I downloaded and installed it from the synaptic and found that the same thing
happened. I find it interesting that when open the "About LibreOffice" under
help does not tell me whether I am running 32bit 64bit LibreOffice.
I still have OpenOffice on my 32bit machines and have not tried LibreOffice on
them.
It seems strange to me that I have more options in Powerpoint format (ppt or
pps) and cannot run this presentation on LibreOffice in its native format.
