Hi :) The 9.04 was not an LTS release and might not be supported anymore. That is possibly why you are having trouble accessing the repositories to install programs. There are tricks to upgrading the system to avoid having to re-format the partition.
Could you get to a command-line and give us the result of sudo fdisk -l where "-l" is a lower-case "-L". This will show us how your partitions are laid out. Do you know if you already have a separate /home partition to keep your data&settings safely away from the rest of the OS? Don't worry if you don't know as the fdisk command will give us a clue. On the other hand it could just be that they are having temporary server troubles. http://linuxmint.com/ "We’re experiencing server issues with the Linux Mint repository at the moment. While we’re investigating the problem, you can switch to one of our mirrors by launching the “Software Sources” tool. From mintMenu: Menu->Administration->Software Sources From the command line: sudo software-properties-gtk Then simply click on “Download from Main Server”, select “Other”, and choose a mirror" Try the advice from their website first. If that doesn't help then perhaps consider downloading Mint 10 although waiting for Mint 11 might be better if you can hold-out that long. Ubuntu 11.04 has just been released a few days ago so Mint 11 will follow. Good luck and regards from Tom :) ________________________________ From: Francis Dollarhyde <francis.f.dollarh...@gmail.com> To: users@libreoffice.org Sent: Tue, 3 May, 2011 16:06:00 Subject: [libreoffice-users] Help file downloaded does not appear I am running 64 and 32 bit Linux mint 9 (based on Ubuntu LTS 9.04) After downloading the core package.
