Hi :)
I really like the default LO icons, especially the file-icons.  I think the 
Design Team is doing a great job and seems interested in   looking at and 
listening to other ideas from new people.  


The main thing is that it's possible to change them and choose something else.  
Freedom of choice seems to me to be crucial to OpenSource.

For toolbar icons you can use Tools > Options > LibreOffice > View. In 
section 'User Interface' select 'Galaxy (default)'.
