Found this when trying to "repair" a user netbook at our university's
helpdesk:

-) Samsung NF 310 (Atom N550, 2 GB RAM, 250 GB HDD, Windows 7 Starter/32
Bit)

Problem: Windows loads, user logs in, as soon as the Desktop loads,
explorer.exe crashes, then auto-restarts, then crashes again, things go in a
loop from there

-) when you enter Computer Management, the error log for the
Explorer-crashes says that MSVCR90.dll is faulty, causing the crash

-) as soon as you get another window to go full screen and thus cover the
Desktop, the crash-loop stops

-) if you bring up the Desktop folder in Windows Explorer, Explorer starts
crashing again

-) if you enter a folder containg files that LO can open, Explorer crashes
(it did when accessing a USB drive that contained a few documents)

Solution: Was for me to just uninstall LibreOffice 3.4, will try if 3.3.2
shows the came behaviour
