Hi :) Do you still have a good copy of the MS Office xlsX file? Ods is the better format for LibreOffice & OpenOffice but the file should be able to just open in Calc and then use "Save As ..." to get into Ods. The Odt is for text 'obviously' but it's clear what Jay meant.
If you saved the corrupted xlsX over the top of the existing file then do you have a back-up or have you emailed it internally or got a copy on usb-stick or something? Sometimes it is faster to work from an old copy and just update it than it was to do the work in the first place. Is the question about document recovery or have you still got the data safe? Good luck and regards from Tom :) ________________________________ From: planas <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Wed, 6 July, 2011 6:07:28 Subject: Re: [libreoffice-users] Re: .xlsx libre issue Marc On Tue, 2011-07-05 at 17:25 -0700, Marc Moran wrote: > save as pdf. from excel 2008 for mac creates individual pdfs per sheet. >thankfully. > > On Jul 5, 2011, at 4:10 PM, marc moran wrote: > > > I have a .xlsx file which once had 9 tabs, that, after a save in libre > > 3.3.3 >... now it seems to have one. needless to say, the formatting is jacked up >too. i've tried opening in ms/ms for mac 2008/google docs ..etc. > > > > It is also protected by an nda agreement so, i should not really send a >copy. any known cure? > > If I need to edit a MSO file, I prefer to open and save immediately in corresponding odt format and keep the original intact so if there are any problems I can try to sort them out. The MSO 2007/2010 formats tend to not behavior as nicely as we would like and there are reports of problems. Do you know if there any macros or advanced features used in the MSO version? -- Jay Lozier [email protected] -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to [email protected] In case of problems unsubscribing, write to [email protected] Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to [email protected] In case of problems unsubscribing, write to [email protected] Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
