Well, that would work in just about the same way in most GNU/Linux-distributions too. The icons are located in Programs → Office in most Gnome based GNU/Linux-distributions, and probably something like that in most KDE-/Xfce-/Lxde (etc)- based GNU/Linux-distributions as well.
