I have a question regarding the data labels feature in a Calc XY
(Scatter) chart. I have a chart with two data series plotted, each
originating from a different sheet, with the chart saved on a sheet of
its own. In order to identify each of the data points once the plot had
been printed, I wanted to show a data label for each data point, which I
figured out could be done by enabling the "Show categories" option in
the Data Labels formatting dialog. When I go to select which cells give
the data labels, though, I find that the range selected for the data
labels applies globally to every data series rather than on a per-data
series basis.
What I want to do is select a range of cells for each data series
independently of one another. Is this possible?
In the current state, I can select one of the two label ranges, and then
that set of labels is applied once to each data series so that one data
series has the correct labels while the second series has incorrect
labels. I've also tried appending a second range to the selection (e.g.
$Sheet1.$A$1:$A$10,$Sheet2.$A$1:$A$10), but that only makes the n-th
label from each range show up on the n-th data point (so two labels per
data point) of both series. This still doesn't help identify each data
point, though.
Operating System : Fedora 15
LibreOffice version : libreoffice-calc-3.3.3.1-2.fc15.x86_64
Thanks,
Justin
