I don't have a Mac myself (I use Linux), but have you checked within the directory, where you've saved your file, if there is another file with a very similar name, but probably starts with ~ and ends with .lck? If yes, please delete this file and you should be able to open your original file. You might want to set Finder to show you hidden files. (I'm not 100% sure, if this file is usually hidden or not).
