Hi :) The LO build for Windows is a little different from the Gnu&Linux, Bsd & Mac build. Also in some OSes it's easy to re-configure global settings for many more key combinations. Finding the limits of the problem can help with sorting it out. Regards from Tom :)

Ctrl+ArrowKey works this way for me too, except when I am editing a formula and want to add a cell's reference, in which case it brings the cursor directly to the first/last coloumn/line of the document. It worked fine with LO3.3.3 but doesn't any more with LO3.4.3 My OS Ubuntu Linux 11.04, but I don't really see why it should be platform-dependent.
