Hi :) The best guides are here http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Publications and here http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/documentation/ Both sets are the same. Sometimes, just after publication, the wiki gets the updates first but it is months between updates so either page usually has the same.
The Help files are not great. There has been some confusion about who was updating those and apparently everyone thought it was someone else's job! lol. The tiny documentation team will be working on them once they have cleared up current projects or perhaps new people might join the team to help with updating them.
