Is there a way to create upside down text either by rotating or

That depends on what sort of document you are referring to! Do you
mean a text (Writer) document? If so, the simple answer is No, I
think. But there is an easy workaround:
o Open a drawing (Draw) document.
o Click on the text (T) button in the Drawing toolbar.
o Drag a text box in your drawing.
o Enter your required text and format it here as necessary.
o With the text box selected (so you see the eight green handles), go
to Format | Object > | Position and Size... | Rotation | Rotation
angle (or right-click | Position and Size... | Rotation | Rotation
angle) and set Angle to 180 degrees.
o Copy the text box and paste it into your text document.
I trust this helps.
