Yes, this is it. Although, I think it isn't much to ask. They just have to add
another shortcut by default in the next version.
Thank you all for your kindness and care.

I didn't ask you before because I didn't know how wonderful and helpful this
community is. The other reason is - I started in OpenOffice and I finished in
LibreOffice - it was a confusing period of my life :)

Kind regards,

Tom

A pity you didn't ask for help before you struggled!

o Set one word or whatever to small caps.
o Select that word.
o Go to Format | Styles and Formatting (or click the Styles and Formatting
button in the Formatting toolbar, or press F11).
o Click the Character Styles button in the Styles and Formatting window.
o Click the down-arrow at the right and select "New Style from Selection".
o Name your new character style.
o Leave the Styles and Formatting window open.
o Either: select text as needed and then double-click the name of your style in
the window,
o Or: click the Fill Format Mode button and then click required words or drag
over required text.  (To terminate Fill Format Mode, either click the button
again or press Esc.)

Oh, and once you have created such a character style, you *can* ascribe to it a
keyboard shortcut if you prefer - which is exactly what you ask for.  Right at
the bottom of the Category list you will see Styles.  Expand that and select
Character and you will see your new style in the Function list.

I trust this helps.
