select System Wide Dialogues which in the past worked for this

In your file browser (Dolphin, etc) under View select Show Hidden FIles
I have it set to Show Hidden Files in both Konqueror and PCManFM. Yes I
use Konqueror as a File Manager as it's more flexible than PCManFM the
default FM for LXDE and it still makes no difference.
