Hi,
I saw this announcement:

So SUN/Oracle JDK will be removed.
The article gives some more advise of course.
HTH,
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sun-java6/+bug/881746
[Oracle (Sun) Java JRE/JDK 6: Update 26 has critical security
vulnerabilities, fixed in Update 29]
See comment #19
http://www.duinsoft.nl/packages.php
Works for me:
$ java -version
java version "1.6.0_30"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_30-b12)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 20.5-b03, mixed mode, sharing)
I use Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. I went to the Synaptic Package Manager and
searched for "JRE". There was a listing for the "default JRE" [1.6-32]
package and one for "openjdk-6-jre" [6b20-1.9.10-0ubuntu1~10.04.4]. I
have both of these options installed. I have 1.6.0_20 installed,
according to LO.
This works for me very well. So if you want to use the "open" version,
or an earlier version of the Sun/Oracle JRE, you do not need to worry
about that "warning message". You can get the earlier version directly
from the Oracle site. I have the 6_22 version listed on my DVD for
Windows. So if you want to go back down towards that version for
Ubuntu, it works well for both.
