... Now I would like to share the new entries that I've created in the symbol catalogue of the formula editor. These seem to be defined in registrymodifications.xcu. That file is very large, contains all sorts of stuff, and is hard to read. Does it make sense to copy it from one machine to another?
It's worth a try and can't do much harm, since you can backup the original one / can always start a clean profile.
If not, is there some other way of sharing symbol-catalogue entries?
As far as I remember, I've been able to add all kind of changes with extensions. The way it works is still the same as it was with OOo, and I see the starter page of the wiki is still there:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Extensions And probably on the fora there will also be examples.
