I'm running 3.4.5 build 502 on my Ubuntu 32 bit 11.10. I also discovered today
that I cannot open an old password protected file and I cannot save new password
protected files. So I have the same problem. I had to transfer the file to
another system with a 3.2 version of OpenOffice to open it. Quite a scare there
for a while.

Thanks!
