Hi there,

I know, this has been probably addressed hundreds of times in the past, and
every time I update my installation of Open/Neo/LibreOffice, I tend to check
whether something has changed with respect to the meta-data editing and the
author field. I am also aware of solutions and discussion like the one here:

http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=66788

But, it would be of great help to be able to set the author field via File >
Properties > Description. I am not the only one who uses LibreOffice for more
than just the creation of own single-authored documents, but for collaborative
writing and editing of joint papers or books with multiple authors, and also
for the editing of documents others have created, maybe even in other file
formats that are converted to ODF. Changing the author setting after creating
initial ODF-documents is not easy or straightforward. It would be incredible
valuable to have an author field in File > Properties > Description, it would
be of even more help to have and editor field. Maybe one day the meta
information handling and interface of ODF-documents in LibreOffice could be
redesigned to be more consistent with some concept like Dublin Core.

There might be a plugin that allows for more detailed and accurate
meta-information handling and document property editing. I would be grateful
for hints.

Thanks!

DC
