i must admit I'm a total neophyte at this aspect of front-/back-end database manager / file thingie, but I hope I went through the correct series of steps before to set up HSQLDB2 using the Windows setup files -- not sure (for one thing a file was created ON MY DESKTOP!) -- mydb.odb
