If you're running LibreOffice in windows 7, the profile path should be something like C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\3\user\
You can access this place directly by typing in the "Run" dialog (opened by pressing the windows key and the R key, Win+R): "%APPDATA%\LibreOffice\3\user" once here, simply rename the registrymodifications.xcu file to something else and check if the "recent documents" issue is still there.
