PS: application bugs: whole different issue. Try this on 12.04; Load LibreOffice Impress, start a new presentation and make a new slide. Select Insert | Comment. See what happens. On my 12.04 default installs, LibreOffice Impress quits silently each time. That is a complete show stopper to me to the extent I have had to purge LibreOffice and install oOo 3.3.0 on this machine because I annotate presentations a lot. I'm keeping the Precise default LibreOffice on the PC so I can see when that bug clears.
Well, I start LibO Impress on Ubuntu 12.04, insert a comment and get a comment on a slide. Of course, I never ever used to use any ppa versions of OpenOffice.org nor LibreOffice. All those integrators and optimizers do no good to this software.
